STAGE 1: SEATED

Consult the "seated stage" notes in posture 1 regarding sitting / chairs.

Begin with hands lightly resting on the thighs, palms down.

Inhale

Cross the wrists in front of your stomach (either right over left or visa versa - you can alternate which wrist is in front if you wish), palms facing the body. Raise both hands in front of the body until they are above and just in front of your head. Follow your hands with your gaze.

Exhale

Turn the palms upward then outwards to each side of the body, lowering the arms either side of the body - palms facing outward. You lower the arms, outstretched and straight, then bend the elbows so that the hands return to the front of the body, palms turned to face the body, cross the wrists in front of the stomach.

Repeat several times.

Consult the "important points" in exercise one regarding "moving in water".
