Consult the "seated stage" notes in posture 1 regarding sitting / chairs.
In the beginning position, hold the wand behind the body at arms length, arms pointing down. If the chair has a back, place the wand behind it. Hold the wand with palms facing backward and about eight inches to a foot from each end.
Inhale. Then:-
Keep the arms straight and raise the wand about six to eight inches, horizontally.
Lower the wand back to the starting point.
Repeat this sequence a few times.
Stand with feet in medium-wide stance, holding the wand at the rear of the body with the shaft against the back of the thighs. Keep the legs straight.
Repeat the sitting stage movements - moving the arms only and keeping the arms straight.
This posture is taken from the Chinese wand exercises.
