11.1 INHALE: TURN & PREPARE TO ROW FORWARDS, LEFT I

Footwork

Transfer weight to the right foot. Lift the left foot to the left. Bring your left foot down close to the right foot, toes facing south-east; then transfer weight to the left foot, lift the right heel and swivel on the ball so that the toes face south. Then move the foot forwards to be parallel with the left foot, inches apart.

Torso / Head

Move your torso to the left to face south.

Wand / Arms

Simultaneously move the left hand, holding the left tip, to the left, loosening the right hand’s grip on the 'town’ section of the wand so that the right hand slides back to the right tip. You end up with the shaft of the wand resting against the upper chest [Figure 90].

11.2 EXHALE: ROW FORWARDS, LEFT I

Footwork

With the left foot, take a shoulder-width step forwards towards the east so that you are in bow posture.

Torso / Head

At the same time, also turn the torso to the east.

Footwork

Place the weight 50% on both feet.

Wand / Arms

Simultaneously, guide the left tip directly forwards, loosening the left hand’s grip so that it slides it towards the 'home’ position of the wand. When the left hand is in the home position turn the left tip down in front of the body so that it points to the ground near the toes of the left foot. The wand is now vertical directly in front of the body, the right hand holding the right tip about 15 inches in front of the upper chest, the left hand the same distance from the groin. [Figure 91].

11.3 INHALE: PREPARE TO ROW FORWARDS, RIGHT I

Footwork

Move the left foot back under the body, toes facing north-east and near the right foot.

Torso / Head

The torso turns to the left--north. Eyes look at eye level.

Wand / Arms

Simultaneously, the left hand draws the wand back across the upper left chest, horizontally - keeping close to the body - as the right hand slides to the 'home’ position. The wand finishes across the chest, horizontally, the shaft close or touching the upper left chest. Both elbows are bent, [Figure 92].

11.4 EXHALE: ROW FORWARDS, RIGHT I

Footwork

Take a shoulder-width step forwards towards the east with the right foot so that you are in bow posture.

Torso / Head

At the same time you also turn the torso to the east. Place the weight 50% on both feet.

Wand / Arms

Simultaneously, guide the right tip directly forward and loosen the right hand’s grip, letting it slide towards the 'home’ position. When it is in the home position turn the right tip down so that it is pointing at the toes of the right foot. The wand is now vertical in front of the body, the left hand holding the left tip about 15 inches in front of the upper chest, the right hand the same distance from the groin. [Figure 93].
