Transfer weight to the left foot and sit back onto the left foot. Swivel on right heel and turn the right foot to face south.
Turn the torso to the left to face south.
Simultaneously guide the left tip up with the left hand, the wand at vertical position at the right side of the body. The left arm is almost above your head, the right hand holding the right tip next to the right thigh / hip. The wand is resting vertically against the right side of your body.
Transfer weight to the right leg, lift the left heel and swivel on ball of the left foot so that left toes are facing directly south, both feet now facing south about 6 inches apart. Weight 50%-50% on both feet. [Figure 56].

Guide the left tip over and behind your head to the left. The left tip travels down, close to or touching the back, to come to rest so that the shaft lays against your body--depending on the length of your arms the wand will rest on the upper thighs or buttocks. Both arms are straight and extended fully, holding--balancing--both ends of the wand between thumb and forefinger, with palms open. [Figure 57].

Transfer weight to the right foot and take a shoulder-width step to the left with the left foot, toes still facing forwards. Then transfer weight 50% to both feet.
Simultaneously, turn the trunk to face the left, east.
Raise the right tip of the wand with the right hand, behind the body and head, until it is vertical, resting against the rear of the left shoulder and left upper arm. The left hand stays down by the side of the left thigh / hip, left arm straight. [Figure 58].

Transfer weight to the left foot and move the right foot up next to the left, parallel, then transfer 50% weight to both feet.
Turn the trunk to the right to face south
Keep the left tip low and the left arm straight, close to the body. Guid the right tip down around the head in front of the body from left to right. Both arms finish straight, the wand resting across the groin in front of the body similar to the home position. [Figure 59].

Transfer weight to the right foot and take a shoulder-width step with the left foot, toes still facing forwards, then place 50% weight on both feet.
Turn trunk to the right to face the west.
The left hand raises the left tip to the right across the body until it is vertical, resting against the right shoulder and upper arm. The right hand stays down by the side of the right thigh / hip, right arm straight. [Figure 60].

Transfer weight to the left foot and move the right foot up next to the left, parallel, then transfer 50% weight to both feet.
Turn the body to the left to face south.
Guide the left tip down, behind your head and back to come to rest against the upper buttocks. Both arms become straight and extended fully, holding--balancing--both ends of the wand between thumb and forefinger, with the palms open. [Figure 61].

Transfer weight to the left foot, then place the right foot shoulder-width distance to the right, toes still facing forwards, with 50% weight on both feet.
Simultaneously turn the trunk to the right to face west.
Raise the left tip up with the left hand, behind the body and head, until it is vertical, resting against the right shoulder and upper arm. The right hand stays down by the side of the right thigh / hip, right arm straight. [Figure 62].

Transfer weight to the right foot, left foot steps up next to the right foot, parallel, with 50% weight on both feet.
Turn the body to the left to face south.
Keep the right tip low and the right arm straight. While guiding the left tip down in front of the body from right to left. Both arms become straight, the wand resting across the groin in front of the body, similar to the home position. [Figure 63].
