Move the right foot back close to the left foot, toes facing south. Transfer weight to the right foot, lift left heel and swivel on ball of foot till left toes are also facing south, feet parallel a few inches apart.
The trunk is also now facing south.
Simultaneously, draw the right tip backward and upward so the the right tip faces west. The left hand does not move much but acts as a pivot so that the wand’s shaft is against the upper chest, both hands in their respective home positions. [Figure 98].
[Figure 98]
Lower the wand to waist height.
Step shoulder-width to the south with the right foot and place 50% weight on both feet.
Simultaneously lift the left tip, keeping the wand shaft close to the body, and move it in an arc forwards and to the right. The right hand, holding the right tip, does not move much; it keeps the right side of the wand’s shaft touching the waist and ends up at arms length to the rear of the right buttock. The left hand, holding the left tip, ends up at arms length to the right front of the body. The wand finishes up horizontal, the shaft resting against the side of the right thigh, the left tip facing forwards--south. [Figure 99].
[Figure 99]
Transfer the weight to the left foot. Lift the right toes and turn them--and the whole right leg--to the left.
At the same time turn your torso to the left also to face east.
Stop moving your right foot and leg--the toes should be facing east.
Raise the left tip up and back with the left hand, keeping the shaft of the wand close to the right side of the body, and bring the left hand behind the head and down the left side of the body to finish in the rear home position, wand horizontal and resting against the buttocks. The right arm stays straight throughout and does not move much. [Figure 100].
[Figure 100]
Transfer weight to the right foot and take a shoulder-width step to the north.
turn your torso to the left to face north.
Simultaneously, lift the right tip with the right hand; it travels up and behind the head to the left side then down to the left, coming to rest with the wand horizontal against the outside of the left thigh. The left hand has not moved much and stays straight, finishing to the rear of the left side of the body; the right hands grasps the right tip to the left front of the body--the right arm diagonally across the trunk. Both arms are straight. The right foot adjusts itself so that the toes are 45 degrees to the right from the left toes, which are pointing directly north. [Figure 101].
