From the previous position, transfer your weight to the right foot. Lift the left toes and place them down facing south-east. Simultaneously...
The left hand moves back and down to the left side of the body.
Turn the trunk to the left to face east. [Figure 24].
[Figure 24]
Continuing from the previous posture, transfer weight to the left foot. Take a shoulder-width step to the south with the right foot, toes facing directly south, adjusting the left foot by pushing the left heel into the ground if needed, so that left foot is at a 45 degrees to the left of south, the direction the toes are facing. Then ensure that the weight is 50-50 on both feet.
Simultaneously, move the left arm up and forward, lifting it in a arc around the left shoulder, bending the left arm, reaching head height. Continue forwards across the front of the body to the right. The left hand continues guiding the left tip to the right at head height. The left arm is straight. The right hand does not move much from the beginning of the posture. Holding the right tip it finishes about 6 inches behind the right buttock--the right arm remaining straight throughout.
Simultaneously, turn the trunk to face south. Gaze at the left hand as it passes the shoulder and follow it across the body with your gaze. [Figure 25].

Continuing from the previous posture, transfer your weight to the left foot. Lift the right toes and swivelling on the right heel so the toes face north-east.
Simultaneously, draw the left tip of the wand down to the left across the body, so that the wand is horizontal and resting against the body. The left arm is straight. The right hand has moved horizontally to the left. The right hand straight. [Figure 26].
Turn the trunk to the left to face east.
[Figure 26]
Continuing from the previous posture, transfer weight to the right foot and lift the left foot. placing left foot down about shoulder-width directly in front of left hip. The weight is 50-50 on both feet. The legs stop moving. After you adjust the right foot by pushing the heel into the ground if needed, so that the right foot is at 45 degrees from the left foot, which is facing directly north.
Acting in unison with the above, turn body to face north. Then turn the torso as far to the left as comfortable, preferably facing west.
At the same time, the right hand guides the right tip up and to the left, rising to head height as you turn your torso to face north. The right arm is straight. The left hand moves to the left, holding the left tip, finishing about 6 inches behind the left buttock--the left arm remaining straight throughout). This is a mirror image of the right twist. [Figure 27].

Carrying on from the previous posture, transfer weight to the right foot. Lift the left heel and swivel on the ball of the foot to the right so that the toes point east.
As you do so, turn the trunk to the right to face east. You look under your right forearm. Eyes at eye level.
Simultaneously bring the right tip to the right, keeping the height just above head height, palm facing away from you, the left hand staying low. You end up with the wand vertical close to or resting against the left side of your body. [Figure 28].
[Figure 28]
Transfer weight to the left foot and move the right foot to the right. Right toes facing directly south. Transfer weight to the right foot; pick up your left foot and place it close to the right foot, parallel, toes also facing south.
At the same time turn the trunk to the right to face south.
Simultaneously lead the right tip to the right, down so that the wand is horizontal in front of the body, back the home position. [Figure 29].
