3.1 INHALE: PREPARE TO ROW LEFT

Wand / Arms

Following from the previous posture in home position, the left hand guides the left tip to the right and forward till it is at the centre of the body, then moves up until it is about chest / face height. As the left hand leads, the right hand, lightly holding the right tip, moves to the rear right of the body. [Figure 30]

Two Steps Left

3.2 EXHALE: ROW & FIRST STEP LEFT

Footwork

Carrying on from the previous posture, transfer weight to the right foot, raise the left heel off the ground and place the left foot down, toes first, to the left, parallel to the right foot about shoulder-width distance, toes still facing south. The weight is now 50-50 on both feet.

Torso / Head

Simultaneously, move the trunk to the left to face east. Gaze at your left hand.

Wand / Arms

At the same time, the left hand guides the left tip to the left in a slight arc still about head height, ending at arms length behind the left side of the body. The left arm is straight. The left tip is higher by an angle of about 45 degrees from the right tip. The right hand has moved to the left with the right tip, holding it around the groin area. [Figure 31].

3.3 INHALE: BIG ROW RIGHT

Footwork

Carrying on from the previous posture, transfer weight to the left foot, move the right foot up next to the left so they are parallel, both feet still facing south. Place weight 50 - 50 on both feet.

Torso / Head

Simultaneously, the trunk turns right to face south then turns to the right to face south. Gaze at your right hand.

Wand / Arms

Keep the shaft of the wand close to, or touching the body, guide the right tip upwards from groin level to about head height in front of the body The right arm is straight, right hand continuing to guide the right tip clockwise to the right, slightly higher than the head. The right hand guides the tip down in the north-west direction behind the right side of the body, right arm still outstretched, the right tip now about 30 degrees higher than the left tip, which is just in front of the groin.[Figure 32].

Torso / Head

Turn the trunk left to the left to face south, transferring your gaze to the left hand as it rises from the centre of the body to just above head-height in front of the body. [Figure 33].

3.4 EXHALE: ROW & SECOND STEP LEFT

Repeat 3.2, but:-

Footwork

The left hand begins from the groin region in front of the body. [Figure 34].

3.5 INHALE: PREPARE TO ROW RIGHT

Footwork

Transfer weight to the left foot, move the right foot next to the left by lifting the heel first and placing toes down first, close to the left foot, still parallel, both feet still facing south. Place weight 50 - 50 on both feet. 

Torso / Head

Turn your trunk to the right to face south.

Wand / Arms

The right hand guides the right tip upward, in front of the body to head height. The left hand on the left tip is kept low, near the left thigh. [Figure 35].

Two Steps Right

3.6 EXHALE: ROW & FIRST STEP RIGHT

Footwork

Transfer weight to the left foot, raise the right heel off the ground and place the right foot down, toes first, to the right, parallel to the left foot about shoulder-width distance, toes still facing south. The weight is now 50-50 on both feet.

Torso / Head

Move the trunk to the right to face west.

Wand / Arms

Simultaneously the right hand guides the right tip to the right in a slight arc still about head height, ending at arms length behind the right side of the body. The right arm is straight. The right tip is higher by an angle of about 45 degrees from the left tip. The left hand has moved to the right as it holds the left tip around the groin area. [Figure 36].

3.7 INHALE: BIG ROW LEFT

Part I

Footwork

Transfer weight to the right foot, move the left foot up next to the right so they are parallel, both feet still facing south. Place weight 50 - 50 on both feet. 

Torso / Head

Turn the trunk to the left to face south.

Wand / Arms

Keep the shaft of the wand close to, or touching the body, guide the left tip upwards from groin level to about head height in front of the body. The left arm is straight, left hand continuing to guide the left tip clockwise to the left, slightly higher than the head.

Part II

Torso / Head

Turn the trunk left to face east. Gaze at the right hand.

Wand / Arms

The right hand guides the tip down in the north-east direction behind the left side of the body, left arm still outstretched, the left tip now about 30 degrees higher than the right tip, which is just in front of the groin.[Figure 37].

Part III

Torso / Head

Transfer gaze to the left hand.

Wand / Arms

The left hand rises from the centre of the body to just above head-height in front of the body. [Figure 38].

3.8 EXHALE: ROW & SECOND STEP RIGHT

Repeat 3.6, but:-

Wand / Arms

The right hand begins from the groin region in front of the body. [Figure 39].
